A Different Kind of Therapist

If you've been to therapy before, you might have a pretty specific image burned into your brain: Candles, soft lighting, a scarf-wearing therapist with a steaming cup of tea, nodding along while you talk. Stereotypical responses like "And how does that make you feel?" ... "What do you think it means?" … "Sit with that." …

Lots of affirmation, but not much direction.

If that's your kind of therapy... I'm not the therapist for you.

I don't sit there and parrot your questions back at you. And I don't own any candles. Yes, I support you, but I also challenge you. I push you out of your comfort zone. Give you feedback you might not like. Because that's where the actual change happens. I ask real, specific questions so we can get to real, specific solutions.

Maybe You're Here Because Someone Demanded It

Real talk: A lot of the men I work with aren't here by choice. Their partner said, "You either get help or I'm gone." Or their performance review at work didn't go so well. Or their doctor told them their blood pressure was through the roof.

Or maybe nobody gave you an ultimatum. You just hit a wall on your own. That quiet moment where you realized you can't keep going like this - carrying the weight of performing impressively on the outside while you're struggling inside.

Either way, you're at a place where something has to change.

Therapy That Doesn't Feel Like Therapy

Here's what I've found after deep experience of working with men and high achievers: the ones who hated therapy before didn't hate therapy. They hated bad therapy.

When you sit down with me, we dig into what's actually going on. We name it plainly, and we work on it directly. You won't leave my office wondering about the point of those 50 minutes. You'll leave knowing exactly what we worked on, why it matters, and what you're doing next.

If you want to be coddled, I'm not your guy. But if you want to be challenged and figure out real-world solutions... let's talk.
