Executive Coaching

I can't teach you how to build a better product, but I can help you be better at building it.

Not Therapy

You're not looking for a feelings circle or someone to nod along while you vent about your week. You're looking for a trusted consigliere.

Someone who can offer real counsel on how to better operate within the specific, high-stakes challenges of running your business. Someone who understands what's on the line when you get it wrong, and who can deliver concrete skills with tangible results.

What We Work On

You're already good at what you do. The problem is everything that gets in the way of doing it well:

Managing big personalities. The fragile egos, the political minefields, the colleague or partner who derails every room they walk into. Learning how to navigate interpersonal dynamics without losing your mind or your leverage.
Triaging priorities. When everything is urgent and nothing can wait, figuring out how to cut through the noise and get to the signal for what truly matters to your business's heartbeat. Getting ruthless about where your time and energy go.
Stress and anger. The slow burn that turns into snapping at your team, or the constant tension you've just accepted as normal. Neither is sustainable.
Clarifying brand and mission. When you've been heads-down building for so long that you've lost sight of what you're building and why. Getting back to clarity.
Work/life boundaries. Not in the "put your phone away at dinner" sense; the deeper stuff: where does your work end and your identity begin? How do you stop carrying the weight of the company into every other part of your life?

Finding Your Next Move

There's a particular kind of stuck that looks like success from the outside. You're well-compensated, respected, and quietly wondering if this is really all there is.

The golden handcuffs have gotten so comfortable you've stopped questioning them. You know you want something different but can't articulate what. Or you're mid-transition and every option feels equally terrifying and exciting.

Part of this work is getting honest about where your actual strengths and interests lie - not just what's made you money, but what makes you sharp. From there, we figure out how to leverage that. Sometimes it means transforming the role you're already in. Sometimes it means building a bridge to the next one.

How This Is Different

I spent over fifteen years in the entertainment industry before becoming a therapist. I've worked with executives, public figures, and creatives whose careers move fast and whose decisions carry real consequences.

I'm not going to give you a worksheet or ask you to journal about your feelings.

What I will do is be direct with you, challenge the patterns that aren't serving you, and help you build a toolkit for the specific situations you're dealing with: the board or VC meeting that goes sideways, the co-founder relationship that's fraying, the anger that's leaking into your personal life.

We're laser-focused and strategic. You come in, we get to it, and you leave with something you can actually use.

Who This Is For

You're running a company, leading a team, or building something with your name on it. Your schedule is packed, time is literally money, and your decisions affect other people's livelihoods.

And you've begun to realize that being great at the product doesn't automatically make you great at managing everything that comes with it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Executive coaching is goal-oriented and focused on professional performance: managing relationships, stress, decision-making, and leadership challenges. It's strategic rather than clinical. That said, if deeper emotional work becomes relevant, Alex Douglas, LCSW can incorporate that too.
No. Some clients come to Alex Douglas for a specific challenge and wrap up in a few sessions. Others find ongoing value and continue long-term. He works with each client to figure out what makes sense for their situation.
Yes. Executive coaching and therapy serve different functions. Many clients work with a therapist for personal issues and use coaching for the professional side. Alex Douglas's coaching won't step on existing therapeutic work. It's a different conversation entirely.
Completely. Alex Douglas Therapy is a private-pay practice with no insurance involvement. No employer, no board, no third party has access to anything discussed in sessions.

You Don't Need to Be Fixed. You Need to Be Sharper.
